The 2010 lexus gx comes standard with a new 4. 6-liter v8, six-speed automatic transmission, seven-passenger seating, plus a host of luxury features the 4runner does not offer.  the gx comes loaded with wood and leather interior trim, heated/ventilated seating, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a power moonroof, multimedia entertainment and other amenities. The second-row bench is split 40/20/40. The outside seats are full-size seats with available heat/cool capability. The center seat is somewhat less accommodating.  access to the rear third-row seats is from the passenger side, where the second-row seat moves forward to allow walk-in access to the third row. We found the process a bit tricky, and the rearmost seats are not long on legroom, but for smaller passengers or short trips, the rear seats will be adequate.  the rear seats can be commanded to fold flat at the push of a button, converting the gx to a five-passenger suv with enlarged storage. Most of the time, the third-row seats will be empty, so the power fold-flat feature on the gx is likely to be highly useful, freeing the driver from the hassle of reconfiguring the seating to accommodate changing loads.  a nine-speaker sound system that includes six-disc cd changer with mp3 capability, integrated xm radio and streaming audio via bluetooth is standard. The optional mark levinson audio system is for audiophiles who demand very high performance. This we attribute to relatively low-profile 60-series tires on 18-inch wheels, and rather thick anti-swaybars used to control the gx in corners. However, bigger impacts like potholes and speed bumps are readily swallowed up by the gx suspension, which is capable of absorbing the larger irregularities of unimproved roadways.

This sport sedan is meant to be dynamic, yet free of gimmicks. It is meant to combine precision with lavish, luxurious appointments. It is meant to deliver a high standard of automotive performance, yet be easily intuitive to drive. Amazing examples of automotive technology are included as standard equipment, yet the driver is never aware of them. It arrived with more computing power than some third-world countries and a standard of luxury usually enjoyed only in the best zip codes. The gs was further improved for 2007. Therefore, the target for the new is models is no less than the bmw 3 series. They look sporty, with bulging muscles and a purposeful stance. Their looks are backed up with genuine sports sedan attributes: rear-wheel drive and handling and performance aspirations tuned more for driving than, say, the softer, front-drive lexus es 330. For the most part, the new is models deliver on the promise. We enjoyed driving them, particularly the more powerful is 350. It's fast, it sticks in corners and it stops with authority. The new optitron gauges are larger and easier to read than the previous cluster, and their light-saber indicator needles, 'ignition on' meter movement and dynamic redline indication are cool modern.  leather upholstery comes standard on the is 250 and is 350 with metallic accents appropriately placed around the cabin. Each piece is hewn from a single chunk of wood to ensure a perfect match from panel to panel.  the heated and ventilated front seats are a must have. It wasn't a case of inferior design or materials, but the cockpit seemed to lack a signature element, such as volvo's floating center console, that could have made the is cockpit as distinctive to sit in as it is to watch race off into the distance. driving impressiononce underway, there's little to criticize. The new lexus is, in both rear- and all-wheel-drive forms, can do everything the safe and sane driver might ask of it. The awd model is heavier than the is 350, but it hauled us over the san gabriel mountains on fabled angeles crest highway without exposing any dire penalties due to its weight.  on a racing circuit, the is 350 is the way to go.
